A homeless man in Seattle is taking advantage of a new trend to offer manicure appointments for the very poor.
The idea is to give homeless people a chance to have manicures for free or a fraction of what it would cost to have a salon.
A homeless man, left, gives a manicurist a free manicure at a Seattle homeless shelter.
“I don’t think it is a fair market, but I think it’s a good thing,” said David Schram, a 32-year-old homeless man.
I don´t know how long this trend will last, but it’s great for the economy,” he added.
Some people might be hesitant to get a manicuring appointment if they aren’t able to afford one.
Schram said the idea is simple.
If you can afford it, you should.
But it can be difficult for people in desperate situations to afford manicures.
One of the problems homeless people have is their inability to afford proper manicures, especially at the low-end of the market, Schram said.
In the last five years, Seattle has seen a $10 billion spike in the number of homeless people.
Last year, the homeless population reached 3,400.
Schram has been a homeless man for six years.
His job as a manicurgist is a way to make ends meet.
He doesn’t have to go out to bars or nightclubs to make money.
He is living in a tent, in the middle of the street, with his girlfriend and his dogs.
Schram says he would like to have more manicures and make a little money doing so.
Seattle’s homeless population increased by about 40 percent from 2013 to 2016.
Homeless advocates say this trend is a good opportunity for people to get out of the shadows.”
I think it has a lot of positives for us as a city. “
I think the trend is great for creating more opportunities for them to actually get to know each other and feel like they belong in the community.”
I think it has a lot of positives for us as a city.
Blomberg said she believes the homeless can find ways to make a living and help create a safer and more prosperous city.
