A manicure and nail salon is slated to open in the Capitol Building on the second floor of the Capitol this fall.
The Washington Post obtained a lease for the storefront on the west side of the building, which will be the location of a new boutique salon that specializes in manicures, pedicures and other accessories.
The store is located in the building’s main concourse.
The shop, located at the corner of Fifth and K streets NW, will open in mid-October and have an indoor and outdoor space, according to a leasing document.
It is expected to open its doors at least a year earlier than its original scheduled opening.
The space has already been vacant for a while and was not considered a major priority for the Capitol building, according the document.
The building is undergoing a $300 million overhaul and a $1.4 billion capital plan.
The new building will also include the Capitol’s first two floors of retail space.
The Capitol is also undergoing a new visitor plaza.
